The scholarships, aimed at supporting talented students in continuing their higher education without financial barriers, represent an increase compared to last year’s allocation, according to the alumni body, Old Saroshian Union.

The event, scheduled for May 10, will bring together former students of the historic institution from across Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), as well as alumni based in other parts of Pakistan and abroad.

The organizers added that gathering would be held at the college’s main auditorium, Justice (R) Muhammad Yunus Sarkhvi Hall, and was expected to draw a large number of attendees, including professionals serving in various public and private sector roles.

The announcement was made during a meeting chaired by Muhammad Azam Khan, with participation from senior members of the alumni network, including academics, former government officials, and media professionals.

An administrative and reception committee has been formed under the leadership of union president Professor Muhammad Zaheer Chaudhry to oversee arrangements for the event.

The additional subcommittees are expected to be formed in the coming days.

The organizers also confirmed that, as in previous years, the scholarship program would remain a central feature of the gathering, with 124 students selected to receive financial support totaling over Rs. 1.7 million—surpassing last year’s figure.

The alumni from around the world have been invited to attend and contribute to the welfare and development of the college and its students, the union said.
