MIRPUR, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 25th Apr, 2026) Azad Jammu and Kashmir Prime Minister Faisal Mumtaz Rathore has said that the government has taken concrete steps to strengthen institutions, with a special focus on comprehensive reforms in the education sector.
Addressing a reception ceremony in Riyan, Kotli district, hosted by Minister for Higher Education Zafar Iqbal Malik, the prime minister said that educational institutions had been upgraded and rationalized under a broader reform package aimed at improving governance and service delivery.
He stated that his political opponents may compete on social media, but they cannot match the government’s performance on the ground. Reaffirming confidence in his party, he said the Pakistan Peoples Party would contest upcoming elections on the basis of its performance and public service record.
Highlighting governance initiatives, he noted efforts such as mobilizing overseas Kashmiris, organizing an agriculture conference, and promoting tourism through practical measures.
He stressed that public welfare remains the government’s top priority and called on all stakeholders to avoid political point-scoring and work collectively for citizens’ rights.
The prime minister also announced new development measures, including the upgradation of a 50-bed Rural Health Centre in Raj Mahal and a feasibility study to upgrade Basic Health Units to improve healthcare access in rural areas. He further said that reforms in health and education, along with broader sectoral improvements, reflect the government’s commitment to service delivery.
The event was attended by senior political and government figures, including PPP leaders and cabinet ministers, who praised the ongoing reform agenda and development initiatives across the region.
