ADC visits Thalassemia center,meets children undergoing treatment

SARGODHA, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 8th May, 2026) Additional Deputy Commissioner(ADC) Headquarters Muhammad Arshad Wattoo on Friday visited the Pakistan Red Crescent Society Thalassemia center, where he spent time with children undergoing treatment.

During the visit,the ADC distributed food and gifts among the children, met their parents and prayed for the patients’ speedy recovery.

He assured the families that the district administration stood by institutions working for the welfare of suffering humanity.

ADC Muhammad Arshad Wattoo also reviewed the medical facilities, treatment arrangements and blood supply system at the center.

Center In-charge Dr.Tanveer Sulehri briefed him on the institution’s performance,the number of registered patients and ongoing activities being carried out with the support of philanthropists.

On the occasion,honorary shields were distributed among workers, volunteers,philanthropists participating in blood donation campaigns and officials of the Red Crescent serving at the center.

Talking to the media,the ADC said timely provision of blood and proper care for children suffering from thalassemia was a collective responsibility.

He appreciated the role of philanthropists,social workers and welfare organizations in serving humanity and termed them a valuable asset of society.

He urged citizens to donate blood regularly to help save the lives of children affected by thalassemia.

He also cut a cake with the Thalassemia patients.
