AC conducts price inspection, fines shopkeepers for overpricing

Dera Ismail Khan, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 15th Mar, 2026) Assistant Commissioner Paroa, Muhammad Adil Khan, conducted a market inspection at Qureshi Mor to review price compliance at various shops in line with directives issued by the provincial government.

During the visit, the assistant commissioner inspected general stores, bakeries, butcher shops and other retail outlets, besides checking petrol pumps in the area.

On the occasion, instances of overpricing were observed at some outlets, prompting immediate legal action against the violators.

According to officials, a bakery store was fined Rs5,000 for overcharging customers, while a petrol pump was penalized Rs10,000 for selling fuel above the officially notified price.

In total, fines amounting to Rs15,000 were imposed during the inspection.

The assistant commissioner warned shopkeepers and petrol pump owners to strictly adhere to the government-notified prices of essential food items and petroleum products, stating that strict legal action would be taken against violators in the future.
