51 shopkeepers fined Rs112,000 for profiteering in Shaheed Benazirabad

HYDERABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 13th Mar, 2026) On the directives of Deputy Commissioner Shaheed Benazirabad Abdul Samad Nizamani, the district administration continued its crackdown against profiteers on the 23rd day of Ramazan across all four talukas of the district, including Nawabshah, Sakrand, Qazi Ahmed and Daur.

Assistant Commissioners and Mukhtiarkars conducted inspections in various markets, vegetable and fruit shops as well as pushcart vendors within their respective jurisdictions.

According to a handout issued on Friday, fines totaling Rs112,000 were imposed on 51 profiteering shopkeepers during the operations.

The handout stated that in taluka Nawabshah, six shopkeepers were fined Rs7,000, while in taluka Daur three shopkeepers were fined Rs2,000. In taluka Sakrand, five shopkeepers were fined Rs3,000 whereas in taluka Qazi Ahmed fines amounting to Rs100,000 were imposed on 37 profiteers.

Revenue officials said that such actions would continue on a daily basis during the holy month of Ramazan to provide relief to the public.
