4,400 liters subpar seized, discarded

LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 19th Apr, 2026) Punjab food Authority (PFA) claimed on Sunday to have seized 4,400 liters

of adulterated milk from a supplier tanker and discarded on the spot during

a grand operation against the adulteration mafia.

The crackdown was carried out on the directions of Director General Syed

Musa Raza in Sarai Mughal area, where a tanker (LES-3881) transporting

subpar milk to Lahore was intercepted.

Officials said the milk was found adulterated with powdered ghee, water and

other prohibited substances, posing serious health hazards to consumers.

A case has been got registered.

DG Syed Musa Raza said strict traceability and checking of milk from dairy

farms to consumers were being ensured, adding that the authority was committed

to eliminating adulteration across Punjab.

He said that under the directives of the Punjab Chief Minister, indiscriminate

action would continue against the adulteration mafia, stressing that no leniency

would be shown.

The DG urged citizens to report food-related complaints on the PFA helpline 1223,

warning that those selling fake milk would have no place in Punjab.
