PESHAWAR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 2nd Mar, 2026) In light of the recent tension on Afghanistan border areas, the district administration has ordered the closure of 37 public and private schools located near border areas, Deputy Commissioner Khyber said on Monday.
According to the official statement, all public and private schools for boys and girls situated in the border areas of Landi Kotal have been closed until further orders.
A formal directive has been issued to the district education department for immediate implementation.
The decision has been taken in view of the prevailing border situation and alleged provocation from the Afghan side.
The Primary objective of closing the educational institutions is to ensure the safety and security of students and teaching staff.
The district administration stated that the situation is being continuously monitored, and a decision regarding the reopening of schools will be made once conditions improve.
