The Westridge Police have apprehended three men allegedly involved in abducting and assaulting a 20-year-old woman and snatching her gold ornaments

RAWALPINDI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 12th Mar, 2026) The Westridge Police have apprehended three men allegedly involved in abducting and assaulting a 20-year-old woman and snatching her gold ornaments.

A Rawalpindi Police spokesman said on Thursday that the police team traced and arrested the suspects by utilising technical and human intelligence after registering a case last month.

He said the suspects had allegedly abducted the woman after blackmailing her and later subjected her to sexual assault.

The spokesman added that nine tolas of gold ornaments snatched from the victim and Rs300,000 obtained from the sale of some of the jewellery had also been recovered during the operation, while the abducted woman had been safely recovered.

According to the police, one of the arrested men had been working as a driver at a house located opposite the victim’s residence and had allegedly committed the crime with the help of his accomplices.

Quoting the contents of the case, the spokesman said the victim had stated that the suspects continued to rape her after the abduction.

The victim has undergone the required medical examination, he added.

Superintendent of Police (SP) Potohar, Sardar Babar Mumtaz Khan, said the accused would be challaned in court with solid evidence.
