ABBOTTABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 10th Jun, 2026) Abbottabad Police have claimed a major breakthrough in the murder case of a 23-year-old Mazda driver from Bagrah, Mandian, by arresting a key suspect involved in the incident.
Addressing a press conference at the DPO Office, SP Cantt. Ali Hamza Butt said that, under the directives of DPO Abbottabad Haroon Rashid Khan, Mirpur Police successfully traced the blind murder case through modern technology and professional investigation.
He said the deceased, Fahad Khan, and his friend were transporting goods from Lahore to Abbottabad when they had a dispute with two motorcyclists near the vegetable market. The two groups reportedly crossed paths several times, leading to arguments and a physical altercation. Near Lady Garden, the suspects allegedly opened fire but failed to injure the victims. Later, near Butt Karahi, the suspects fired again, fatally shooting Fahad Khan.
<?php /*?> <?php */?>Following the incident, an FIR was registered under Section 302 of the Pakistan Penal Code on the complaint of the deceased's friend, Fakhar Nawaz Khan.
A special investigation team, supervised by SP Cantt Ali Hamza Butt, collected evidence from the crime scene, analyzed CCTV footage and call detail records, and conducted raids in different districts. The investigation led to the identification of suspects Saifullah of Bairan Gali and Tauseef Alam of Kakul.
Police arrested Saifullah along with the alleged murder weapon, while Tauseef Alam had already obtained interim bail from the court. His next court appearance is scheduled for June 17.
Police officials stated that further investigation is underway and reaffirmed their commitment to continuing action against criminal elements across the district
