201 teachers promoted as SSTs in Sialkot

SIALKOT, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 30th Apr, 2026) As many as 201 Elementary school Teachers (ESTs) in Sialkot were promoted to the posts of Senior School Teachers (SSTs), and Deputy Commissioner Saba Asghar Ali distributed promotion letters among them at a ceremony held at Government Comprehensive School Sialkot.

Addressing the event, the deputy commissioner said teachers play a pivotal role in shaping society, adding that they are responsible for the intellectual and moral development of the younger generation. She termed the promotions a recognition of hard work, integrity and dedicated service, which would further motivate teachers to perform better.

Saba Asghar Ali said the responsibilities of teachers had increased in the modern era, urging them to equip students with contemporary skills while also instilling values such as tolerance, responsibility and ethics.

“A good teacher is one who helps students become good human beings,” she remarked.

She assured the teachers that the district administration and education authorities were aware of their issues and were taking joint measures to address them, adding that all available resources would be utilized to improve the education system.

Senior officials of the education department, including the Chief Executive Officer Education and District and Deputy District Education Officers, attended the ceremony.
