Personnel serving in difficult conditions are our real heroes: DC Abbottabad

ABBOTTABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 30th Apr, 2026) To pay tribute to personnel who rendered exemplary services during the snowfall and forest fire incidents of 2025–2026, district administration on Thursday held a dignified ceremony.

The ceremony aimed to acknowledge the efforts of officials involved in relief operations during heavy snowfall, emergency road clearance, and efforts to control forest fires. Personnel from various departments were appreciated for their dedication and professionalism.

Addressing the gathering as chief guest, the Deputy Commissioner said that those serving the public in challenging conditions are the real heroes.

He praised their timely response in restoring roads during snowfall and controlling forest fires, terming their performance commendable.

He highlighted that effective coordination among departments ensured timely and efficient handling of emergencies, which helped prevent major public inconvenience.

He added that the police, in collaboration with other institutions, maintained traffic flow and ensured public safety.

The Deputy Commissioner further appreciated Rescue 1122 for its prompt response despite life-threatening risks, and commended PKHA and C&W teams for keeping roads operational through continuous deployment of machinery and staff.

He also lauded the Revenue Department for demonstrating strong teamwork under the district administration.

At the conclusion of the ceremony, appreciation certificates were distributed among the personnel.

The Deputy Commissioner expressed hope that they would continue serving with the same commitment and emphasized the need for coordinated efforts to mitigate potential flood risks in Abbottabad in the future.
