SIALKOT, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 2nd Mar, 2026) Rescue 1122 saved 2,934 lives by responding to 3,167 emergency calls during the month of February.
This was stated by District Emergency Officer Engineer Naveed Iqbal while chairing a monthly performance review meeting held at the Central Rescue 1122 Station.
According to the Rescue 1122 spokesperson, the Rescue Control Room received 8,777 calls during the month, of which 3,167 were genuine emergency calls, while the remaining were non-emergency or fake calls. The emergencies included 1,100 road traffic accidents, 52 fire incidents, 80 crime emergencies, 1,496 medical cases, 144 fall incidents, two building collapse incidents, three drowning cases and 278 other rescue operations.
Rescue teams provided first aid to 1,252 patients at the scene and shifted 1,682 injured persons to hospitals after initial treatment. However, 170 people died either at the scene or during transfer. Twelve critical patients were shifted to Lahore for advanced medical care.
The spokesperson further said that Rescue 1122 conducted 25 community training sessions and trained more than 500 citizens in first aid and fire safety during February. Rescue teams also assisted in the anti-polio campaign by administering drops to 1,380 children.
