19,540 subsidized flour bags reach Taxila, Wah residents daily

WAH CANTT, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 1st Mar, 2026) The district food department is supplying 19,540 subsidized 10kg flour bags daily in Taxila and Wah Cantt during Ramzan, aligning with Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif's public relief vision. The bags are sold at Rs880 through designated truck points and fair price shops.

Assistant Food Controller Azhar Balouch stated that 10 truck points and 284 fair price shops are operational across the twin cities, in collaboration with the local administration and Punjab Flour Mills Association. Strict monitoring ensures quality and availability.

Flour samples are regularly sent to laboratories, with one mill already fined for substandard flour. The initiative aims to provide affordable essentials during Ramzan.

The move is seen as a significant step towards supporting citizens during the holy month.
