113 processions conclude peacefully in Bhawalpur

BAHAWALPUR, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 26th Jun, 2026) Ashura Muharram-ul-Haram was observed with religious devotion in the district

as 113 processions and 33 Majalis concluded peacefully.

Under a comprehensive security plan, more than 2,445 police personnel were deployed across

the district to ensure safety of mourners and maintain law and order.

The security apparatus included Elite Force commandos at sensitive points, female police officers

for women's gatherings, snipers positioned on rooftops along procession routes, and Quick Response

Teams kept on standby.

The entire route of the main procession was monitored through a centralized CCTV surveillance system of Safe City with live feed at the police control room.

Throughout the day, Commissioner Irfan Ali Kathia, Regional Police Officer Ghazi Salahuddin, Deputy Commissioner Syed Hassan Raza, and District Police Officer Rana Abdul Wahab visited various areas of the district to inspect security measures, traffic management, and civic facilities.

The officials reviewed personnel deployment, checked communication systems, and interacted with

organizers and volunteers, ensuring all arrangements functioned smoothly.

Rescue 1122 remained fully operational with emergency response teams deployed at strategic locations along all procession routes. Ambulances, fire brigades, and rescue vehicles were stationed at designated points.

Bahawalpur Waste Management Company and Suthra Punjab agency made arrangements for the cleanliness of procession routes and sites of Majalis.
