1,100 liquor bottles seized,two suspects arrested

SIALKOT, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 12th Jun, 2026) District Police Officer (DPO) Dost Muhammad on Friday continued its crackdown against drug peddlers and liquor suppliers,arresting two suspects and recovering a large quantity of liquor during an operation conducted by Hajipura Police.

According to a police spokesperson, the operation was carried out on the basis of confidential information under the supervision of the DSP City Circle and the leadership of SHO Inspector Ghazi Abdul Razzaq.

The police arrested two suspects, identified as Yasir and Hamza, who were allegedly involved in an inter-district liquor supply network.

During the raid,police recovered 1,100 bottles of liquor from the suspects’ possession and registered separate cases against them.

Initial investigations revealed that the suspects allegedly transported liquor from other districts and supplied it to various areas of Sialkot.

Police said the operation had dealt a significant blow to the illegal liquor supply network, while efforts were under way to apprehend other individuals linked to the racket.

Speaking on the occasion,DPO Dost Muhammad said that indiscriminate action against drug traffickers and anti-social elements would continue under the “Drug-Free Punjab” campaign.

He reiterated the police’s commitment to taking all possible measures to protect society from the menace of drugs and other illegal activities.

Further investigations was underway.
