ISLAMABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 17th May, 2026) Pakistan will celebrate Eid ul Azha on May 27 after the Zil Hajj moon was sighted on Sunday, according to an announcement made by the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee following its meeting in Karachi.
The committee confirmed the moon sighting after receiving testimonies from different parts of the country during a meeting held at the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) office in Karachi.

Following the confirmation, the chairman officially announced that the first day of Zil Hajj would begin on Monday, while Eid ul Azha would be observed across the country on May 27.
Religious scholars, officials from the PMD, and representatives from relevant departments attended the meeting to review moon sighting reports and weather conditions before reaching the final decision.
