KARACHI, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 19th May, 2026) The NAPA Repertory Festival entered its 11th day on Monday with Zeest, a powerful drama about grief, parental love, and unseen battles of youth.
The play was staged at the National academy of Performing Arts’ Zia Mohyeddin Theatre to a sizeable audience that reacted sensitively to its theme.
Written and directed by Kashif Hussain, this is the only original play of the festival.
<?php /*?> <?php */?>It featured Kiran Siddiqui, Farhan Alam, Jibran Khan, and Akthar Abbas.
The play has a layered story. In the immediate aftermath of a teenage boy's suicide, a father, a mother, and a neighbor grapple with shock, denial, and blame, exposing unspoken structures in the relationship.
The canvas broadens as outsiders enter, heightening the family's turmoil while revealing how love, silence, and societal pressures intersect in devastating ways.
The play will also be staged on Tuesday at 8 pm.
