ZC official gets 8-year prison sentence in bribery case

An official of Zila Council (ZC) was awarded eight years rigorous imprisonment by the court of Special Judge Anti Corruption Multan in a bribery case on Wednesday

MULTAN, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 29th Apr, 2026) An official of Zila Council (ZC) was awarded eight years rigorous imprisonment by the court of Special Judge Anti Corruption Multan in a bribery case on Wednesday.

A team of Anti Corruption Establishment (ACE) Headquarters Multan had arrested ZC head clerk Muhammad Younis in a raid while receiving illegal gratification in the year 2024.

Court also imposed Rs 50000 fine on the accused official.

Regional Director ACE Multan Basharat Nabi said that the case successfully culminated into award of punishment to the accused official due to efficient investigations and zero tolerance policy ordered by Director General ACE Punjab Sohail Zafar Chattha against corrupt elements across the province, says an official release.
