YouTube tightens policies on AI-generated videos to curb low-quality content

The company said the updated guidelines are intended to clarify its existing rules at a time when an increasing number of creators are using AI tools to produce videos.

According to YouTube, the revised policy does not introduce entirely new regulations but provides clearer language on the type of AI-generated content that may face restrictions.

The platform will particularly target videos that rely on repetitive AI-generated material or contain content considered manipulative or harmful to viewers.

While some of these videos may remain available, they will not be eligible for monetisation and are unlikely to be recommended to users.
