Youth gather at digital skills, innovation event in Peshawar

PESHAWAR, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 7th May, 2026) Students, freelancers and aspiring entrepreneurs from different districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa attended a youth-focused technology and networking event in Peshawar on Thursday, where speakers emphasised the growing importance of digital skills, innovation and industry exposure for young people.

The event, titled “Let’s Connect,” was organised by the District Youth Affairs Peshawar in collaboration with Metrix Pakistan and supported by Innovista and Arfa Karim Technology Incubator.

Held at the Arfa Karim Technology Incubator, the programme featured panel discussions, interactive workshops and hands-on sessions focusing on artificial intelligence, freelancing, cybersecurity, entrepreneurship, video editing and women’s participation in the digital economy.

Participants engaged directly with experts during practical sessions aimed at providing exposure to emerging technologies and evolving employment trends in the digital sector.

Among the speakers were Waleed Paracha, Mohib Malik, Kashif Ali, Muhammad Waqar, Hisham Sarwar, who joined virtually, Zunaira Rehman, Osama Aziz and Sajawal Khan.

Speaking on the occasion, Usman Khan District Youth Officer Peshawar said the initiative was aimed at equipping young people with practical knowledge and connecting them with professionals from relevant industries.

“Youth today require more than academic qualifications. They need awareness of changing technologies, market trends and practical skills that can help them compete in the modern economy,” he said, adding that such forums also help encourage confidence, networking and career development among participants.

Mohib Malik Director Metrix Pakistan said the event focused on creating learning opportunities through direct interaction with experienced professionals. “The objective was to expose participants to real-world experiences in technology and entrepreneurship while encouraging innovation and collaboration among youth,” he added.

The event concluded with an interactive networking session and a ceremony in which shields were distributed among speakers and organisers.
