Youth empowerment seminar held at UAD

DERA ISMAIL KHAN, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 14th May, 2026) The University of Agriculture Dera Ismail Khan (UAD) has organized a seminar on youth empowerment at its central hall, where speakers highlighted the role of young people in leadership, education, research and social development.

The seminar, held under the special directives of Vice Chancellor Professor Dr Latif Gondal, was attended by Commissioner Dawood Khan, Regional Police Officer Ghulam Mubashir Maken, District Police Officer Ziauddin Ahmad and Secretary to the Commissioner Sajjad Baloch as chief guests.

A large number of teachers, administrative officers, students and people from different walks of life participated in the event.

The speakers discussed challenges faced by youth, the importance of education and research, and the need for positive engagement of young people in constructive activities.

Addressing the seminar, ORIC Manager at Gomal University, Dr Ayesha Siddiqua, said youth were the most valuable asset of any nation and their proper guidance was essential for national progress. She urged the students to utilize their abilities positively and focus on research, innovation and community service.

Assistant Professor at the Institute of business Administration, Gomal University, Dr Adnan Khan Marwat said young people should not limit themselves to obtaining degrees alone but should also develop leadership qualities, communication skills and self-confidence to bring constructive change in society.

RPO Ghulam Mubashir Maken advised students to stay away from drugs, misuse of social media and unproductive activities. He said the youth represented the bright future of the country and should play an active role in promoting peace, social values and national development.

Commissioner Dawood Khan said empowering youth was the need of the hour, adding that educational institutions had a vital role not only in imparting education but also in personality development and leadership training. He appreciated the university administration for organizing a meaningful and constructive program.

Registrar Abdul Basit Khan briefed the participants on the university’s ongoing development projects, academic initiatives and administrative reforms. He said the university was taking practical steps to improve educational standards and modernize infrastructure despite limited resources.

In his presidential address, Vice Chancellor Professor Dr Latif Gondal said the dream of progress could not be achieved without the intellectual, educational and professional training of youth. He reiterated the university’s commitment to providing modern education and an improved academic environment for students.

At the conclusion of the seminar, honorary shields and traditional Ajrak gifts were presented to the chief guests and speakers by the university administration.
