Youth commits suicide, another shot dead in Tehkal

PESHAWAR, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 14th May, 2026) An 18-year-old boy died after committing suicide in Faridabad area here after being stopped by his mother from talking to a girl on a mobile phone, police said on Thursday.

According to Faridabad police, the incident took place in Shah Nawaz Town where 18-year-old Hamza, son of Arif, reportedly got into an argument with his mother after she asked him not to talk to a girl on the phone. During the altercation, the teenager allegedly shot himself.

Police recovered a pistol from the scene and started an investigation into the incident.

In another case, Amir Khan, son of Javed Iqbal, resident of Canal Town, told Tehkal police that he and his 26-year-old friend Nauman, son of Noor Muhammad were present in the area when four unidentified men approached them and started a quarrel.

After an exchange of harsh words one of the armed suspects opened fire, critically injuring Nauman, who later died on the scene.Police have registered a case against the unidentified suspects, who managed to escape after the shooting.
