Youngster dies of electric shock

MULTAN, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 10th May, 2026) A 17-year-old boy died after suffering an electric shock while removing clothes from a rooftop near Gagran Soling on Muzaffargarh Road, Rescue 1122 officials said on Sunday.

According to rescuers, Javed, son of Afzal, had gone to the rooftop to take down clothes when the clothesline reportedly came into contact with a live electric wire. He received a severe electric shock and died on the spot.

A Rescue 1122 team reached the scene immediately after receiving the emergency call and administered CPR, but the teenager could not be revived. He was later taken to a nearby doctor at the request of family members, where his death was confirmed.

The family refused to shift the body to hospital.

Rescue officials urged citizens to avoid hanging or removing clothes near electricity wires and to maintain a safe distance from power lines to prevent such accidents.
