LAHORE, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 9th May, 2026) A Youm-e-Tashakur conference in connection with 'Marka-e-Haq' was held at Noulakha Presbyterian Church, here on Saturday.

Religious leaders, minority representatives, and social figures paid tribute to the Pakistan armed forces and highlighted the importance of national unity, peace, and interfaith harmony.

Punjab Minister for Minorities Affairs Ramesh Singh Arora attended the conference as chief guest, while Chairman Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee and Khateeb Badshahi Mosque Maulana Syed Abdul Khabir Azad, Reverend Dr. Majid Abel, Maulana Asim Makhdoom, and leaders from different schools of thought and religions also participated.

Addressing the conference, Punjab Minister Ramesh Singh Arora congratulated the nation on the success of “Marka-e-Haq” and said hostile elements had targeted innocent civilians and unarmed citizens through conspiracies against Pakistan. He stated that minorities, including Sikhs, Muslims, Christians, Hindus, and lower-caste communities, were not safe even in countries claiming to uphold secular values.

Referring to the attack on the Golden Temple, he said the Sikh community observes June 6 as a black day in remembrance of the incident. He emphasised that all religious communities and minorities in Pakistan were united in conveying the message that Pakistan is a land of peace, coexistence, and harmony.

He added that while adversaries lacked the spirit of patriotism and unity, the people of Pakistan remained firmly bound by faith, solidarity, and national pride.

On the occasion, Reverend Dr. Majid Abel said India had repeatedly attempted to undermine Pakistan and had become a threat to regional and global peace, adding that Pakistan had emerged before the world as an ambassador of peace and harmony. He also presented a declaration during the event, which received strong support from the participants.

Maulana Asim Makhdoom expressed complete support for the declaration presented by Reverend Dr. Majid Abel and criticised India’s role in various international incidents.

Chairman Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee Maulana Syed Abdul Khabir Azad said celebrations of Youm-e-Tashakur over the success of “Marka-e-Haq – Bunyan-um-Marsoos” were being observed across the country, reflecting the nation’s unity and gratitude. He alleged that India had attempted aggression against Pakistan on the basis of baseless accusations, but Pakistan had delivered a strong response under the leadership of Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir.

Other speakers also paid tribute to the Pakistan Armed Forces and expressed their resolve to make every sacrifice for the defence, security, and stability of the country.
