Workers backbone of national development, says IESCO chief

ISLAMABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 30th Apr, 2026) Chief Executive of Islamabad Electric Supply Company (IESCO), Engineer Chaudhry Khalid Mahmood, on Thursday paid rich tribute to workers, saying they are the foundation of national development, institutional stability and a bright future.

In a special message on the occasion of International Labour Day, he lauded the contributions of workers worldwide, particularly the hardworking and dedicated employees of IESCO, said a press release.

He said that the tireless efforts, commitment, and sacrifices of workers play a fundamental role behind the economic progress, industrial stability, and national prosperity of any country.

The IESCO chief said that May 1 provides an opportunity to renew our commitment to collectively take effective and practical measures for the rights, dignity, and welfare of our workers.

He also paid tribute to the hardworking and dedicated line staff of IESCO, stating that they have continued to serve valued consumers and keep their homes illuminated despite all weather conditions and other difficult circumstances. He added that IESCO is proud of them.
