DERA ISMAIL KHAN, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 30th Apr, 2026) Regional Police Officer (RPO) Dera, Ghulam Mubashir Mekan, on Thursday chaired a high-level meeting to review progress on the Safe City and Command & Control Center projects aimed at enhancing security across Dera Ismail Khan.
The meeting, held at the Regional Police Office, focused on the ongoing civil works and installation of poles at various sites identified for surveillance coverage at entry and exit points as well as within the city.
District Police Officer (DPO) Dera, Ziauddin Ahmed, Deputy Director Safe City South Muhammad Hussain, and Executive Engineer C&W Junaid Khan attended the meeting. Project Director of NRTC, Muhammad Shehzad, and Deputy Director Safe City Project at CPO Peshawar, Naveed Gul, joined via video link.
Officials briefed the chair on the progress made so far, including installation of poles, deployment of modern surveillance cameras, and construction work on the Command & Control Center building.
Speaking on the occasion, the RPO emphasized the importance of timely completion of the project, directing all stakeholders to ensure that the Safe City initiative is completed within the stipulated timeframe. He stressed coordinated efforts and effective teamwork to remove any hurdles in the execution process.
He further directed that no compromise should be made on the quality of work to ensure the system remains sustainable and effective in maintaining long-term law and order in the district.
Later, the RPO, accompanied by officials, visited the under-construction Command & Control Center building, where he reviewed the pace and quality of work and instructed engineers to further accelerate construction activities.
