Women drive online Eidi trend

As Eidul Fitr approaches, a growing number of women entrepreneurs have launched online businesses offering beautifully designed Eidi envelopes, decorative gift boxes, mehndi, bangles and other festive accessories, attracting customers seeking creative and stylish ways to present Eid gifts.

With the rapid expansion of digital marketplaces, many traditional vendors are shifting their operations online, showcasing a colourful range of Eidi envelopes, gift boxes, mehndi and bangles to tap into the rising festive demand ahead of Eid.

Media reports indicate that creatively designed Eidi envelopes and decorative gift boxes are particularly popular among young people, who favour stylish and vibrant options for presenting gifts during the celebrations.

According to women running these online ventures, prices for Eidi envelopes generally range from Rs200 to Rs500, while decorative gift boxes containing accessories typically cost between Rs1,000 and Rs5,000, depending on the design and the items included.

"Buying Eidi envelopes online has become so much fun. I love the colourful designs and the small accessories that make gifting more special," said one student.

Another secondary school student said she had previously bought plain envelopes from local markets but now preferred browsing online stores for more fashionable options. "It's exciting to choose from so many trendy designs and show them to my friends," she added.
