An anti-terrorism court (ATC) on Friday granted post-arrest bail to a woman accused of allegedly throwing acid on a man

LAHORE, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 24th Jul, 2026) An anti-terrorism court (ATC) on Friday granted post-arrest bail to a woman accused of allegedly throwing acid on a man.

ATC Judge Malik Abid Hussain announced the decision after hearing arguments from both sides. The court accepted the bail petition of co-accused Kiran Shehzadi, who had sought bail while in jail, and ordered her release upon submission of surety bonds worth Rs100,000.

According to the prosecution, the complainant, Ahsan, had recently returned from Malaysia and was allegedly intending to marry Kiran Bibi after divorcing his wife, Rimsha.

The prosecution said Rimsha and Kiran, who are close friends, jointly planned the attack.

It said that Kiran Bibi threw acid on Ahsan at Rimsha's instigation, causing severe burns to his face. It further said that the main accused, Rimsha, is currently in police custody on physical remand.

A case has been registered against the two women at Sadar Kasur Police Station.
