KHANEWAL, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 19th Jun, 2026) Police arrested an alleged female drug trafficker and recovered 24 kilograms of hashish during a major operation conducted by the City Police.
The action was carried out during a checkpoint operation in the 168/10-R area as part of a district-wide crackdown on drug trafficking being conducted on the directives of District Police Officer (DPO) Muhammad Abid.
According to police sources, the suspect was intercepted during routine checking and found 24 kilograms of hashish from his possession. The recovered narcotics, valued at millions of rupees in the illicit market, were immediately seized and a case was registered against the accused under relevant provisions of the law.
Police sources said the arrested woman was being thoroughly interrogated and investigators expect important leads regarding the supply chain and other individuals involved in the narcotics network.

DPO Muhammad Abid said the operation reflects the district police's unwavering commitment to the vision of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif for a drug-free Punjab. He reiterated that Khanewal Police are implementing a strict zero-tolerance policy against drug traffickers and criminal elements involved in the narcotics trade.
"The fight against drugs will continue with full determination. No individual involved in poisoning society, particularly the youth, will be spared," the DPO said, adding that intelligence-based operations were being conducted across the district to dismantle drug networks and ensure a safer environment for citizens.
