SHANGLA, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 19th May, 2026) Windstorm and rains wrecked havoc in Shangla disrupting electricity supply due to falling of transmission lines besides damaging houses in various areas of the district.
According to details, windstorm and rains started in tehsil Chakaiser, Alpuri, Kana and surroundings areas affecting routine life. The winds uprooted trees and damaged roofs of eleven dilapidated houses in tehsil Chakaiser and Alpuri.
Uprooted trees also damaged cars and disconnecting electricity to many villages.

The electricity was disrupted in Alpuri, Rial, Shapoa , Kana and Puran due to tripping of feeders while people also faced problems due to shortage of water and closure of roads.
Locals have demanded of authorities to immediately start survey and assess the damages incurred during windstorm. Authorities have also urged people to avoid unnecessary travelling and took precautionary measures in future to minimize risk factor.
