MUZAFFARGARH, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 2nd Mar, 2026) In a significant step towards wildlife conservation, the Wildlife Department has released five pairs of Brown Partridges in the Thal region after bringing them from Sindh to help revive the declining bird population.
The initiative was carried out under the supervision of Assistant Chief Wildlife Ranger Kashif Hameed, with active participation from the Wildlife Department Layyah. The birds were released in the areas of Loluh Wala and Noor Wala, located in Tehsil Karor Lal Esan, as part of an ongoing wildlife conservation program.
Local wildlife enthusiasts Malik Asif Raza and Malik Najaf Ali extended full cooperation in the conservation effort, reflecting growing community involvement in protecting natural biodiversity.
Senior Wildlife Ranger Malik Arsalan along with his team was also present on the occasion. Officials termed the move a major milestone that will contribute to the survival and population growth of the nearly disappearing Brown Partridge in the region.
Speaking on the occasion, Malik Arsalan appreciated the support of local landowners and emphasized that protecting wildlife, particularly partridges, was a shared responsibility. He noted that safeguarding wildlife plays a vital role in maintaining ecological balance.
The Wildlife Department also warned that illegal hunting of partridges was strictly prohibited, adding that strict legal action will be taken against anyone found involved in unlawful hunting activities.
