WHO, KP health Dept hold dengue case management workshop

PESHAWAR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 11th Mar, 2026) A three-day workshop on dengue case management for health care professionals was organized by the World Health Organization in collaboration with the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Health Department.

According to officials the workshop aimed at strengthening the capacity of health care professionals in dengue prevention early diagnosis and effective treatment to save lives.

Around 100 health care professionals from medical teaching institutions and district headquarters hospitals across the province participated in the training on dengue case management.

Officials said the objective of the workshop was to improve the recognition and diagnosis of dengue cases and ensure appropriate care for patients.

The participants were also trained to identify severe dengue cases carry out close monitoring and ensure prompt and appropriate management.

The training further provided guidance on timely and appropriate fluid management and the proper use of blood and blood products during dengue treatment.

Officials emphasized that coordinated efforts and proper training of health professionals were essential to protect lives and effectively manage dengue cases in the province.
