RAWALPINDI, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 25th May, 2026) On the special directives of City Police Officer (CPO) Syed Khalid Mehmood Hamdani, the welfare cheques and appreciation letters were distributed to the families of police martyrs and injured veterans.

According to the police spokesperson, police officers visited the homes of martyrs’ families and deserving Ghazis to deliver the CPO’s written message along with welfare cheques.

In his letter, the CPO praised the sacrifices rendered by police martyrs and Ghazis and conveyed his best wishes to their families. He also announced the resumption of monthly welfare payments following the restoration of Shaheed Welfare Filling Stations.

Under the leadership of CPO Syed Khalid Mehmood Hamdani, two welfare projects Shaheed Welfare Filling Station Raja Bazaar and Shaheed Welfare Filling Station Airport Road were successfully completed last year.

The income generated from these filling stations was dedicated to the welfare of families of police martyrs and injured personnel.

The welfare programme provides monthly assistance of Rs15,000 to the families of police martyrs, while disabled, seriously injured or permanently medicated Ghazis receive Rs10,000 per month. These payments are in addition to all existing government benefits and welfare funds.

The payment process had remained temporarily suspended due to the closure of filling stations during the Kutchery Chowk Maarka-e-Haq Square remodelling project. However, following the restoration of operations at the filling stations, the issuance of welfare cheques has now resumed on the directives of the CPO.

City Police Officer (CPO) Syed Khalid Mehmood Hamdani reiterated that the sacrifices of Rawalpindi Police martyrs and Ghazis would always be remembered and honoured.
