HYDERABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 25th May, 2026) A meeting was held under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Zain-ul-Abedin Memon to review the current water supply situation in the city and to propose immediate measures for its improvement.
According to a handout, the meeting was attended by the Chief Executive Officer of Hyderabad Water and Sewerage Corporation (HW&SC), Superintending Engineers and Executive Engineers of HESCO as well as all Executive Engineers of the Water Supply Wing of HW&SC.
In view of public convenience particularly for Eid-ul-Azha, it was decided that all major feeders related to water supply will be exempted from load management from 10:45 pm to 6:45 am. During this period, uninterrupted power supply for eight hours will be ensured. The public has been advised to fill their water tanks and storage facilities during this time.
It was further informed in the meeting that special monitoring teams of HW&SC and HESCO will supervise filtration plants and pumping stations during the night to promptly address any technical faults or issues.
<?php /*?> <?php */?>Complaint cells have also been activated, and citizens can register their complaints through HESCO helpline 118 and mobile number 0337-2192751 and HW&SC helplines 1139 and 022-9201996.
During the meeting, it was noted that load management on certain 11KV feeders including New Shahbaz, Miani Forest and Preetabad is unavoidable, while special teams have been formed to curb power theft and illegal usage on these feeders. The public has been urged to avoid power theft, otherwise strict legal action will be taken.
It was also decided that in view of Eid holidays, there will be no load shedding from 7:00 pm on May 26 to 12:00 midnight on May 30. During these days, officers of the district administration, HMC, HW&SC, SSWMB and HESCO will remain on duty to ensure immediate resolution of public issues.
The meeting was informed that all necessary arrangements are being made to ensure that citizens of Hyderabad can celebrate Eid-ul-Azha in a peaceful and comfortable environment.
