WASA recovery officials warned of transfers over missed targets

FAISALABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 15th Jul, 2026) Water & Sanitation Agency (WASA) Managing Director (MD) Saqib Raza has declared achievement of at least 75 percent recovery of commercial water and sewerage bills mandatory for all revenue officers and warned that the officials failing to meet the target would be transferred as the agency stepped up efforts to strengthen its financial position and improve civic services.

Chairing a meeting to review revenue performance, he said that the monthly recovery targets set by the Punjab government must be achieved in letter and spirit. He directed all revenue officers to intensify field operations and personally ensure the recovery of outstanding dues as well as current monthly bills from commercial consumers.

He said that every revenue officer would be required to achieve a minimum recovery of 75 percent from commercial consumers.

Any officer failing to meet the assigned target would be replaced, he added.

He also instructed revenue officers to increase the number of commercial consumers registered within their respective subdivisions to broaden revenue base of the agency and improve collection efficiency.

He directed the Private Housing Societies (PHS) Directorate to ensure achievement of its prescribed monthly recovery targets as well. Strict action would be taken against officials in case of poor performance, he added.

Emphasizing the importance of enhanced revenue collection, he said that improved financial stability would enable WASA to address the growing challenges of water supply and drainage services more effectively and deliver better municipal facilities to the citizens of Faisalabad.
