WASA finalises plan to ensure uninterrupted water, sewerage services during Eid

RAWALPINDI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 19th Mar, 2026) The Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA) Rawalpindi has finalised a comprehensive strategy to ensure uninterrupted water supply and sewerage services for residents during Eid-ul-Fitr, with field staff to remain on duty throughout the holidays.

The arrangements have been made on the directions of Managing Director WASA Rawalpindi Azizullah Khan, who issued a public message regarding Eid preparations, a WASA spokesman said on Thursday.

He said an uninterrupted supply of clean drinking water would be ensured during Eid-ul-Fitr, while complaints relating to water and sewerage would be addressed promptly, adding that all necessary measures had been completed in this regard.

The spokesman said sewerage staff had been directed to visit major mosques and Eidgahs during the Eid days to ensure that sewer lines remained clear, while manholes and covers would be closely monitored. Field staff had been assigned duties accordingly.

During the Eid holidays, officers of water supply and sewerage departments have been designated as focal persons to monitor the WASA complaint cell and respond on-site in case of any emergency.

According to the duty roster, Director Sewerage Saadun Basra (0316-0444870) will serve as focal person for sewerage-related matters, assisted by Assistant Director Chanzeeb (0333-5767017) and Sub-Engineer Muhammad Haseeb (0341-5069552) as resource persons.

For water supply, Sub-Engineer Muhammad Shoaib (0334-9596568) (Shamsabad), Sub-Engineer Zohaib (0312-5457586), Sub-Engineer Muhammad Ali (0335-6539624) (Mohammadi Chowk, Khayaban-e-Sir Syed), Tube Well Inspector Muhammad Imran (0333-5323850) (Liaquat Bagh), Sub-Engineer Saadullah (0316-5114296) (Commercial Market), Sub-Engineer Muhammad Ishtiaq (0300-5368689) (Chak Jalal Din), Sub-Engineer Muhammad Umair (0333-4367967) (Gulzar-e-Quaid, Al-Noor Colony, Kotha Kalan), Sub-Engineer Naushad Aslam (0333-3695248) (Rawal Dam), and Sub-Engineer Abdul Rehman (0312-7129109) (Khanpur Dam water supply system) have been appointed as focal persons for their respective areas.

Managing Director WASA Rawalpindi Azizullah Khan urged citizens to contact the nearest complaint centre or call the WASA helpline 1334 in case of any issue.
