FAISALABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 25th May, 2026) Director General (DG) Faisalabad Development Authority (FDA) Muhammad Asif Chaudhary directed WASA officers that responsible surveillance of sewer manholes should be continuously carried out in FDA-controlled residential colonies, commercial markets, including katchi abadis.

In this regard, building inspectors have been instructed to conduct a comprehensive survey of sewer manholes in streets, neighborhoods, markets and other public pathways within their respective jurisdictions, compile proper records and ensure continuous monitoring.

They are also required to immediately identify any uncovered manholes so that uncovered manholes and other hazardous pits in roads and pathways can be secured without delay through coordination with Municipal Corporation Faisalabad, Water & Sanitation Agency or other relevant institutions.

The DG FDA directed the concerned staff to provide verification certificates confirming the presence of covers on sewer manholes and the proper functioning of streetlights in residential colonies, commercial markets, and Kachi Abadies under their jurisdiction.
