WASA directed for early completion of schemes

FAISALABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 20th May, 2026) Managing Director (MD) Water & Sanitation Agency (WASA) Saqib Raza has directed officers to ensure early completion of development schemes at Jhang Road, Achakera and Daud Chowk disposal stations to improve drainage facilities before Eid-ul-Azha.

Chairing a Development & Operations Review meeting, he conducted a detailed review of the progress on various ongoing construction and uplift projects being executed by the agency in different parts of the city.

He said that special measures were being taken to provide improved drainage and sewerage facilities in accordance with high service standards during the days of Eid-ul-Azha, when sanitation and drainage systems usually come under increased pressure.

He emphasized that all ongoing development schemes should be expedited and construction activities accelerated to ensure their timely completion.

He directed the concerned officers to maintain full operational efficiency and remove hurdles delaying the pace of work.

He particularly instructed the operational staff to keep machinery functional on-site at Bhutta Stop on Jhang Road to promptly address sewerage complaints and prevent inconvenience to residents of the area.
