WASA activates special sewerage plan to facilitate citizens during Eid

FAISALABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 25th May, 2026) Water & Sanitation Agency (WASA) Managing Director (MD) Saqib Raza conducted emergency visits to various city areas and directed WASA officials to ensure maximum relief to citizens through uninterrupted sewerage operations during Eid-ul-Azha holidays.

Deputy Managing Directors Shoaib Rashid, Usman Zia, Shoaib Zia, Director Operations East Nauman Noor and other officers accompanied him during the inspections.

The WASA Managing Director visited different residential localities including Madina Town X-Block, Y-Block, Officers Colony and Marina Town to review sewerage arrangements and preparedness of field staff.

During visit, he deployed two sucker machines in the areas to ensure immediate drainage in case of water accumulation or sewerage overflow during Eid days.

He said that WASA was taking special measures to provide maximum relief to citizens and all necessary machinery including sucker machines and dewatering sets had been arranged to resolve sewerage-related complaints within the shortest possible time.

He said that WASA had formulated a special operational strategy to maintain smooth drainage and sanitation services during Eid-ul-Azha particularly in densely populated and sensitive residential areas.

He made it clear that operational staff would remain on duty despite Eid holidays and would be responsible for immediate response and redressal of public complaints.

He directed WASA officers to maintain round-the-clock monitoring of sewerage operations and ensure uninterrupted field presence so that citizens could celebrate Eid without inconvenience caused by drainage or sanitation issues.

He also stressed the need for proactive measures to avoid sewerage blockages and water accumulation, instructing teams to remain fully alert throughout the Eid holidays.
