Wafaqi Mohtasib recognizes media’s role in spreading awareness, solving public issues

KARACHI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 18th Feb, 2026) Acknowledging the proactive role in dissemination of awareness about the functions and performance of the Federal Ombudsman Secretariat among the masses, Wafaqi Mohtasib Ejaz Ahmad Qureshi awarded recognition certificates to journalists and media professionalists.

Provincial Coordinator for Sindh and Member In charge Federal Ombudsman Regional Office Karachi, Amir Ahmad Shaikh, on Wednesday distributed the certificates to the journalists and media persons who actively contributed in the Mohtasib’s core objectives of ensuring better public service delivery, good governance and rule of law and swift resolution of public issues.

Wafaqi Mohtasib’s Senior Advisor Syed Anwar Hyder, Focal person for media Taqi Muhammad Soomro, and other senior officers of Regional Office Karachi were also present at the occasion.

Amir Ahmad Shaikh, speaking at the occasion, stated that the Federal Ombudsman Secretariat is the court of poor people where seasoned bureaucrats and technocrats are devotedly working to provide relief to aggrieved people in accordance with rules and regulations while considering the misery of the aggrieved person.

The institute of Wafaqi Mohtasib, under the leadership of Ejaz Ahmed Qureshi, efficiently resolved hundreds of thousand complaints against federal government departments and organizations, he said, highlighting that the rate of implementation on the cases decided by the Ombudsman is remarkable as 97 out of 100 complainants were getting relief.

The Wafaqi Mohtasib has adopted a proactive approach for extending the outreach and spreading awareness among the masses, he said and added that establishment of regional offices across the country, use of modern technology, and holding khulli katchehries (open courts) in far flung areas helped people in filing their complaints and get them resolved.

Appreciating the significant role of media in mass awareness, Amir Ahmad Shaikh said that media played a pro-active role in dissemination of information and awareness about the Wafaqi Mohtasib. Recognizing their contribution, the Federal Ombudsman is awarding recognition certificates to journalists and media professionals across the country, he said.

In Karachi, Senior Reporter Associated Press of Pakistan Muhammad Ali Qazi, Bureau Chief Dharti tv Imdad Soomro, Columnist Rahmatullah Buriro, Photo journalist Muhammad Shoaib Khan and Assistant Information Officer Press Information Department Ghulam Ali Asghar received the certificates.
