KHANEWAL, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 24th Apr, 2026) The district administration launched a major anti-encroachment operation in Shanti Nagar, demolishing illegally constructed shops and newly built structures during a crackdown aimed at restoring public spaces.
The operation was carried out under the supervision of Incharge Punjab Enforcement and Regulatory Authority (PERA) Force Inspector Asad, during which heavy machinery was used to remove unauthorized constructions, including illegal shops and boundary walls erected on government land and public pathways.
Speaking to the media, Inspector Asad said that illegal occupation of state land and encroachments would not be tolerated under any circumstances.
He stated that making the city free from encroachments remains a top priority of the district administration.
He further warned that individuals who have established illegal structures on government land or roads should voluntarily remove them, otherwise strict legal action would be taken. He added that enforcement teams would continue demolition operations and impose heavy fines on violators.
Local residents appreciated the administration’s action, stating that encroachments had created serious difficulties for pedestrians and traffic movement in the area. Citizens expressed hope that such operations would continue to ensure smooth passage and improved urban management in Khanewal.
