Uzbek delegation led by Tashkent Governor arrives in Lahore to explore investment opportunities

An eighteen-member high-level delegation from Tashkent Region, led by Governor Zoir Toirovich Mirzaev, on Wednesday arrived in Lahore on a three-day visit aimed at strengthening economic cooperation and exploring investment opportunities in Punjab

LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 11th Mar, 2026) An eighteen-member high-level delegation from Tashkent Region, led by Governor Zoir Toirovich Mirzaev, on Wednesday arrived in Lahore on a three-day visit aimed at strengthening economic cooperation and exploring investment opportunities in Punjab.

On behalf of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, Senior Provincial Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb warmly received the distinguished delegation at Allama Iqbal International Airport and conveyed the chief minister’s best wishes.

The Uzbek delegation comprises senior officials from the Tashkent Region administration as well as private sector investors who have arrived to explore potential investment avenues in various sectors of Punjab.

During their visit, the delegation, accompanied by Senior Provincial Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb and other officials, also visited the Punjab board of Investment and Trade. On the occasion, both sides held discussions on enhancing economic, industrial and trade cooperation between Punjab and Tashkent.

The two sides agreed to strengthen bilateral economic relations, promote industrial and trade linkages, and advance joint investment initiatives.

Members of the Uzbek delegation expressed keen interest in investing in a range of projects through the private sector, noting that Punjab offers vast opportunities in industry, trade and investment.

On the occasion, Marriyum Aurangzeb said the fraternal relations between Pakistan and Uzbekistan could play a significant role in promoting regional stability and economic prosperity for the people of both countries. She added that under the leadership of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, the Punjab government is pursuing a comprehensive investor-friendly policy aimed at facilitating foreign investment and providing a conducive environment for global investors.

The Uzbek delegation also includes Deputy Governor for Investment, Industry and Trade of Tashkent Region Najmiddin Khodja Sharipov and Advisor to the Governor on Local Industry Dilshad Rasulov, along with other senior officials.

Also present on the occasion were Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Pakistan Alisher Khakimov Tukhataev and Honorary Consul of Uzbekistan in Punjab Najib Mushtaq Vohra, besides senior officials from the Uzbek Embassy.
