UoS VC condoles death of renowned Iqbal Scholar Dr.Haroon Ur Rashid Tabassum

SARGODHA, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 24th Feb, 2026) Vice Chancellor(VC) of the University of Sargodha(UoS),Prof. Dr. Qaisar Abbas has expressed deep sorrow over the death of renowned Iqbal scholar and educator, Prof. Dr. Haroon Ur Rashid Tabassum.

In his condolence message,Dr.Abbas described Dr. Tabassum as a towering intellectual whose passing has left a significant void in the city’s academic and literary community.

He praised Dr.Tabassum for his exceptional contributions to Iqbal studies,his dedication to promoting national consciousness and his role in shaping the minds of thousands of students throughout his career.

Dr.Abbas noted that Dr.Tabassum,a true teacher at heart had dedicated his life to scholarly work and mentoring students who were now serving in various fields.

His work,centered on the philosophy of Allama Muhammad Iqbal and the ideology of Pakistan,had a lasting impact on the academic landscape.

VC called Dr.Tabassum a symbol of scholarly dignity and national responsibility,adding that his services to education and literature would always be remembered with respect.

Dr.Abbas extended his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family,students and all those affected by Dr.Tabassum’s passing, praying for patience for his family and the highest ranks in Jannah for the late scholar.
