UOG holds drug awareness seminar

GUJRAT, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 20th May, 2026) A drug awareness seminar was held at Hafiz Hayat Campus under the Directorate

of Student Affairs, University of Gujrat, in collaboration with the Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF)

Punjab.

According to official sources, the purpose of seminar was to create awareness among

students about the harmful effects of drugs and to encourage them to play their role as

social ambassadors in promoting healthy values in society.

ANF Assistant Director Muhammad Farooq Chaudhry was the chief guest. He said drug

abuse was a “serious menace” that damages individuals, families and society. He stressed

the need for students’ active role in awareness campaigns and efforts to eliminate drug

trafficking.

He said the Anti-Narcotics Force Pakistan was working with other institutions

for the elimination of drugs from society.

He added that drugs were harmful to physical and mental health and were prohibited

in Islamic teachings.

Director Student Affairs Shama Tahseen hosted the event, while Mian Khurram Irshad

and Tariq Ijaz coordinated the seminar. Students participated actively and asked questions

at the end of the session.

A souvenir was presented to the guest by the University of Gujrat for his participation.
