University of Malakand clinches Hec Zone C football championship trophy

HARIPUR, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 18th Feb, 2026) The Higher education Commission (HEC) Zone C Inter-University Football Championship 2025-26 concluded successfully at Pak-Austria Fachhochschule, with the University of Malakand emerging as champions after defeating the University of Chitral 1-0 in a thrilling final.

The three-day tournament featured eight universities from Zone C, showcasing high-quality football, teamwork, and sportsmanship. The final proved to be a closely contested encounter, with both teams demonstrating strong defensive and attacking play before Malakand secured the decisive goal to clinch the title.

Other participating teams included the University of Swat, University of Haripur, University of Buner, University of Swabi, and Hazara University.

A large number of spectators attended the matches, especially the final, and cheered enthusiastically for the players.

Deputy Commissioner Waseem Ahmad, who attended the closing ceremony as chief guest, said such sports activities play a vital role in promoting discipline, teamwork, and positive thinking among youth. He congratulated the organizers and participating teams for the successful conduct of the championship.

At the end of the event, trophies and certificates were distributed among the winning team and outstanding players, while participants appreciated the excellent arrangements and expressed hope that similar events would continue in the future.
