LAHORE, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 9th May, 2026) Pakistan Ulema Council (PUC) Chairman Hafiz Tahir Mahmood Ashrafi on Saturday said that no conspiracy against Pakistan’s security, sovereignty, or internal stability would be tolerated under any circumstances.

He added that if any aggression is carried out against Pakistan, the nation would stand shoulder to shoulder with its armed forces.

He was addressing a grand “Marka-e-Haq, Bunyan-um-Marsoos” conference held at Jamia Ashrafia Lahore in connection with expressing solidarity with the Pakistan Armed Forces. The event, chaired by Maulana Qari Arshad Obaid, was held at the New library Hall and attended by leaders from various religious, sectarian, and social organisations.

Addressing the participants, Ashrafi said Jamia Ashrafia had always raised a strong voice during every difficult phase in Pakistan’s history. He remarked that Indian leadership had often issued threats regarding advanced military equipment, but, as he claimed, Pakistan’s air power had responded effectively. He emphasised that the country could not progress without a strong military and a united nation. He further said that those who speak in favour of Pakistan’s honour and peace are often targeted, referring to incidents involving religious scholars.

On the occasion, Chairman Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee Maulana Abdul Khabeer Azad said that religious seminaries across Pakistan were actively participating in observing “Bunyan-um-Marsoos” and that the message of gratitude should be conveyed globally, adding that unity and collective effort were essential for strengthening Pakistan. He paid tribute to the armed forces, saying that they had responded firmly to aggression and would continue to do so in the future.

Representing the Shia Ulema Council, Qasim Ali Qasmi said that sectarianism would not be allowed to prevail in Pakistan, adding that the nation stood united yesterday, stands united today, and would remain united in the future. He also alleged external involvement in promoting sectarian divisions.

Dr. Majid Abel, priest of Noulakha Church, said the unity demonstrated under “Bunyan-um-Marsoos” had surprised even adversaries, adding that Pakistan’s armed forces had strengthened the country’s image internationally as a peace-promoting nation rather than a conflict-driven state.
