LAHORE: (UrduPoint/UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News-July 15th, 2026) The Unique Group of Institutions concluded its three-day Performing Arts Workshop with a closing ceremony held at the Dr Nisar Ahmed Rana Auditorium under the auspices of its Co-Curricular Department.
The ceremony was chaired by Unique Group Chairman Professor Abdul Mannan Khurram, while Punjab Minister for Education Rana Sikandar Hayat attended as the chief guest.
Among the distinguished guests were Punjab Assembly member Maria Talal, motivational speaker Qasim Ali Shah, Principal of Wahdat Road Degree College Professor Dr Uzma Khanum, television anchor Salman Hassan, playwright Mohsin Gillani, and Umair Rana.
Addressing the ceremony, Rana Sikandar Hayat said the Constitution requires educational institutions to waive tuition fees for 10 percent of students, adding that private educational institutions are implementing the constitutional provision. He stressed that improving the condition of public educational institutions and focusing on quality enhancement would help raise educational standards across the province.
The minister acknowledged the Unique Group’s contribution to the education sector, saying the government had entrusted the institution with the management of public schools under a public-private partnership model.
<?php /*?> <?php */?>He added that student enrolment at the partnered institutions had increased by 400 percent through the collaboration, describing the initiative as highly encouraging.
He also said the Punjab government is taking steps to introduce innovation and modern teaching practices in the education sector.
Speaking on the occasion, Professor Abdul Mannan Khurram said teachers must first develop the skills and qualities they seek to instil in their students. He noted that the Unique Group organizes an annual three-day Performing Arts Training Workshop to help teachers discover and strengthen their creative and communication skills, which are essential for effective education.
At the conclusion of the event, shields were presented to the workshop’s resource persons in recognition of their contributions.
The ceremony was attended by Unique Group Rector Professor Amjad Ali Khan, Vice Chairman Afif Ashraf Siddiqui, Director Professor Wasim Anwar Chaudhry, and a large number of faculty members.
