Under CM’s Orders, Punjab government rolls out ruthless Ramazan operation against price manipulators: Salma Butt confirms

ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 20th Feb, 2026) Special Assistant to the Chief Minister Punjab for Price Control, Salma Butt Friday warned that under the Chief Minister’s direct orders, all relevant departments are on high alert and actively enforcing strict measures to crush artificial inflation and hoarding of essential commodities during Ramazan, with zero tolerance for violators.

Speaking exclusively with a local news channel, Salma Butt said that all wholesale markets are under full scrutiny and monitored for auction prices, adding that the supply of essential commodities is being increased to meet public demand.

Salma Butt highlighted that public complaints are the government’s top priority, adding that under the Chief Minister’s directives, deputy commissioners, assistant commissioners and all relevant officials are actively present in the field to ensure strict monitoring.

She added that all cabinet members are visiting Ramazan bazaars regularly to observe market conditions and ensure that operations run smoothly and efficiently. The government is taking aggressive measures to curb hoarding, profiteering, and artificial inflation.

Salma Butt reaffirmed that these actions are aimed at facilitating citizens and ensuring that essential commodities remain available at fair prices throughout the province during Ramazan.

She added that the government is taking uncompromising measures against hoarding and unjustified price hikes. Citizens can expect full enforcement of rules, with strict penalties for those trying to exploit the Ramazan season.
