ISLAMABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 15th Jul, 2026) A high level United Nations delegation led by Under Secretary General for Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency Relief Coordinator Tom Fletcher visited the National Emergencies Operation Center (NEOC) at the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) Headquarters in Islamabad on Wednesday ,where it was briefed on Pakistan's disaster management capabilities, early warning systems and emergency preparedness measures aimed at mitigating natural disasters and emerging risks during 2026.
The delegation was received by Chairman NDMA Lieutenant General Inam Haider Malik, who highlighted the importance of strengthening international cooperation and sharing experiences among countries to enhance disaster resilience and response mechanisms.
NDMA provided a comprehensive briefing on the operational capabilities of the National Emergencies Operation Center, including its multi hazard early warning systems, risk assessment mechanisms and the effective utilization of national resources for timely emergency response and disaster mitigation.

Lieutenant General Inam Haider Malik underscored the significance of collaborative efforts among nations in addressing the growing challenges posed by climate related disasters and emergencies.
He reaffirmed Pakistan's commitment to strengthening partnerships aimed at protecting vulnerable communities and enhancing regional and global disaster preparedness.
The United Nations delegation lauded Pakistan's National Emergencies Operation Center and appreciated the country's adoption of modern disaster management systems and proactive preparedness measures.
The delegation also reaffirmed its commitment to enhancing cooperation with Pakistan to strengthen disaster risk reduction efforts and improve practical measures for effective emergency response and humanitarian assistance.
