UMT Sialkot students advocate social welfare through research

SIALKOT, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 3rd Jul, 2026) The Department of English and Literary Studies (DELS), UMT Sialkot, hosted 'From Observation to Action: Students Advocating for Social Welfare'.

Following a meaningful field visit and real-world interaction at an orphanage, students presented research-based reports and compelling documentaries highlighting pressing social issues, demonstrating empathy, critical thinking, and civic responsibility.

Organized by Ayesha Qadir, Lecturer in English and President of the Literary and Dramatic Society, the event also enhanced students' language, communication, presentation, and public speaking skills, empowering them to transform real-life observations into impactful storytelling and informed social advocacy.

The initiative reflected DELS' commitment to experiential learning and developing socially responsible, confident communicators.
